‘Maldives – The Underwater Kingdom’ goes to print
After two years, multiple trips to the Maldives, hundreds of logged hours underwater, and many, many more hours spent staring at computer screens, Maldives – The Underwater Kingdom is at the printers. It’s been a long journey but Scubazoo’s first self-published underwater coffee table book is merely a couple of weeks away from becoming a reality.
Scubazoo’s publications director and underwater photographer Jason Isley has been staying in Singapore for the past 10 days. During that time he’s been hard at work checking colour proofs and monitoring the printing at our chosen printer ‘Dominie press’. Although having to be on-call to check print quality every 2 hours means Jason is suffering from serious sleep deprivation, he’s in great spirits and is supremely happy with the quality of printing for the book.
With the glueing and binding to come, not to mention the insertion of the accompanying DVD, there’s still a fair way to go yet but the finish line is in sight! Many of the books are destined to head straight to resorts in the Maldives, but several hundred will be landing in our head office in Kota Kinabalu in early November. These will available to buy online from Scubazoo’s website. We’ll post more details on this next week. In the meantime you can take a peek inside the book here.
